C'est un guide très gentil, à l'écoute qui a su me rassurer tout en me faisant découvrir les plus beaux paysages de son île, la culture local, ainsi que la flore grâce à ses connaissances en botanique. Il n'hésite pas à faire des détours pour visiter d'autres points de vue que ceux très touristiques, découvrir des petits villages typiques ainsi que des restaurants locaux. Tout cela sans surplus par rapport au tarif convenu au préalable. Merci beaucoup pour ce voyage je rentre la tête pleine de souvenirs et grâce à cette expérience j'ai hâte de revenir pour un nouveau voyage en solitaire sur cette île. Je n'hésiterai pas à refaire appel à ses services et surtout mesdames, n'hésitez pas à partir seules et a le contacter... During the trip our driver stopped a few times for a minute to show us various flowers and plants and explain about them. He was also able to answer all of our questions. The tour was really nice waterfalls, gorge, Shiva statue, 7 color earth, rum factory... As we experienced some rain initially, he gave us an option to change the tour route to ensure better weather. Good communication with Peregrine Ogden when enquiring/booking and a price was agreed on to be paid to the driver on the day. It was also suggested we stop off and visit Lombok Wildlife Park on our way back to the airport. We were picked up on time at the airport by our driver, who spoke little English, but instead of stopping at Senggigi as planned, he drove straight through! We had to explain to the driver that we had booked to stop off at Senggigi for 3 hours. He had to ring the boss to check and then turned around and took us back. We were not sure if we were in the main part as there was just a small beach, a few empty market stalls and a couple of restaurants so we didn't stay too long. The speedboat was quick and enjoyable. On our return trip our driver spoke fluent English and he took us to Lombok Wildlife Park and he was even our guide in the park, taking photographs/videos and showing us around. We had a fantastic time in Lombok Wildlife Park and would recommend a visit. The driver also offered to stop for us to see the monkeys by the road on the way back and he provided a very good, efficient service and he took great photos/videos for us in the Wildlife park. The terrain is also different, literally half dry and half wet. That is only the beginning of the fun. Lombok's culture is quite strong, dominated by the Sasak people. They are warm and friendly and funny. I mention all of this because Lombok is rapidly becoming more and more popular, so get here now before it becomes Bali the second. The best way to experience Lombok is to park yourself at one of the many resort hotels to get comfortable, and hire yourself a good guide to see the rest of the island. Ardi is the best of the best. I met him years ago on my first visit and he has been my guide ever since. He's picked me up at the airport, gotten me to my hotel, taken me around the island and we've even done day trips to the nearby Gili Islands. Ardi knows Lombok inside and out. He knows the most beautiful beaches to take you to, as well as the inland sites, where to have the freshest seafood for lunch, and where to stop for the coldest and richest coconut water. He also knows people all over the island so wherever he takes you, the friendly greeting he always gets is a bonus extended to you as well. Ardi speaks English fluently and easily, as well as Indonesian and his native Sasak. I wouldn't be surprised if a few more languages get added such a far away place can be an intimating but exciting adventure. LOMBOK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT is a relatively small airport that handles domestic flights between Bali Jakarta and other Indonesian cities and international flights to and from Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Perth. We have found that direct flights from Kuala Lumpur to Lombok are often cheaper than to Bali - with the added bonus that you can skip the Bali Airport madness. Check for flight deals on SkyScanner and to Lombok Airport Lombok Taxi Blue Bird is the most convenient taxi operator throughout Lombok as you can order them using their MyBluebird App - taxis will drop passengers directly in front of the departure terminal. Note though, that Blue Bird Taxis cannot pick up passengers from inside the airport grounds. For low-cost airport transfers, the DAMRI bus is the cheapest way to travel between Senggigi, Mataram and the Lombok AirportAfter collecting your baggage, head out of the exit doors of the airport terminal and through the arrivals hall to the official airport taxi parking area at the end on the right-hand side. Kotama and Kotasi are the main operators - they use dark blue sedans carrying a maximum of 4 passengers less if you have a lot of luggage. These taxis are licensed and insured and use the meter to calculate your fare anywhere on the island. BlueBird taxis cannot pick up passengers from inside the airport grounds BUT what you can do is to make your way to the departures section where taxis do drop-offs and hop into a BlueBird taxi which has just dropped someone else. Organising an airport transfer with your hotel is often the best if you have this option and the hotel driver will conveniently meet you on arrival and transfer you to your hotel in comfort. Check with your hotel as charges are usually only slightly more than a taxi fares from Lombok Airport Senggigi Rp 220,000;Mataram Rp l60,000; Kuta Rp 100,000;Bangsal Harbour Rp There are official taxi counters inside the arrivals hall that will allocate you a fixed price taxi to most destinations, plus charge an additional airport fee of Rp however, it is just as easy to walk outside and get a metered taxi independently. Whatever you do, ignore the many touts that will approach you with offers of cheap fares - they are not licensed operators and often quote low prices, which can quickly change once you are in the car! Avoid eye contact and avoid the hassle. If you do need to make use of an independent driver - for example, if you are a large group or have a lot of luggage or sports equipment, make sure you negotiate a fixed price before you get in the public DAMRI BUS uses air-conditioned buses which seat around 40 passengers and an economical solution to airport transfers to and from Senggigi and major DAMRI counter is located inside the arrivals hall, at the end on the left-hand side and is manned by an information officer who issues tickets for the bus service. Fares are clearly shown on signboards at the counter and you will find the busses parked just outside the arrival hall to the operate a regular schedule of departures every day to coincide with airline schedules. Three airport shuttle services are available - one to and from central Senggigi LIA - Senggigi, another to and from Mataram LIA - Mataram Pool Damri and one to and from Selongin East Lombok LIA -Selong Pancor. Officially, the scheduled departure times are every hour for shuttle buses to the city of Mataram and every 1 and 1/2 hours to Senggigi from 3 am until 8 pm. Be mindful that you may find yourself on a bus that combines both routes, which means a stop first near Mataram before continuing on to drivers tend to stop at other popular points along the route, including dropping off passengers at the roundabout in Gerung which can be useful if you are heading to Sekotong or Lembar, and outside the old Selaparang Airport on the way to Ampenan where you will find taxis awaiting the arrival of buses. The trip to Senggigi takes around 90 minutes and costs just Rp 40,000 per person Rp 30,000 to Mataram and Rp 35,000 to Selong.If your hotel is outside of Senggigi, flag down a metered Blue Bird taxi from the shuttle stop in Senggigi to take you the last the Gili IslandsThere is no shortage of agents and operators on the island to arrange transport with to Lombok and if you want a fairly painless experience you can do it this way. Approximate prices are Senggigi Rp 100,000; Kuta Beach Rp 100,000However, you should know that you will be placed on the public boat running from the Gili's to Bangsal in Lombok for which you can buy a ticket directly at the boat terminal for Rp15,000 and the land transport will be an of a shared van variety. We had a less than ideal experience when the Lombok operator made everyone sit around for more than an hour to give himself an opportunity to up-sell other tours and services to each passenger. If you are more than one person it might be much faster and cheaper to just buy the local ferry ticket directly and hail a Blue Bird taxi from Bangsal or use the Blue Bird app to your final destination. From Bangsal to Senggigi a taxi should be around Rp 150,000. From Senggigi to Kuta Beach a taxi will be between Rp 250,000 and Rp 300,000 as a comparison. Getting Around Lombok Lombok is easy to get around, the roads are generally in good condition with little traffic, apart from in the cities and the road leading up past Senggigi. The island itself is only slightly smaller than Bali at115 km long and 80 km wide and although possible, it is not practical to drive around Lombok in one are easily available in Lombok and, unlike in some parts of Asia, all use their meters argo to calculate fares, there is no need to haggle about fares. Lombok Taxi operated by Blue Bird Taxi, is the largest company in Lombok and you will find them in the cities and around tourist areas such as Senggigi. Fares are still relatively low compared to those in the west with short trips around Senggigi costing around Rp 20,000 and a taxi from Senggigi to Mataram around Rp 65, for a taxi or ask your hotel to phone, or flag one down from the side of the road. It's also worth having a look on a website like KLOOK as there are often good deals for pre-booked transfers that might be surprisingly so a bit cheaper than locally arranged options. Cars and Motorbikes can be hired all over Lombok and driving yourself is easy and can be very convenient. Modern, air-conditioned cars which can seat 5 people including the driver can be hired for between Rp 350,000 - 500,000 per day, including basic are the most popular form of transport and are generally small, light 125cc with automatic gears. Modern and economic scooters, such as a Yamaha Mio, are easy to ride and do not have gears. Expect to pay between Rp 50,000 - 60,000 per day for motorbike rental, depending on age and type. Both require n an international drivers' licence. If you plan on renting a motorcycle make sure to read our guide here What most people don’t realize is that even if you have travel insurance, if you don’t have a valid motorcycle license, most policies won’t cover you so make sure you look into this before your trip. Whatever you do, don’t travel without travel insurance! We would suggest checking out World Nomads or SafetyWing, for travel insurance as they have the best coverage for active around Lombok are readily available in the tourist areas, and drivers and guides are licensed by the local Kotasi tour organisation who also regulate prices in the industry. Most of the tour operators are reliable and will no doubt have a wealth of local knowledge to offer which can make touring a more rewarding experience. Expect to pay higher prices during peak pronounced 'chi doh moh' are traditional horse-drawn carts that were once the main form of transport in Lombok and are still used today, although they have been replaced by cars and motorbikes in the cities. The covered wooden carriages are pulled by small, local ponies and, in villages and at thelocal markets in Kebun Roek, they are popular transport, particularly for transporting Cidomo for shorter trips such as getting to and from restaurants and hotels around Senggigi. A short trip should cost around Rp 20,000; however, negotiate the fare with the driver before climbing are no cars or motorised transport on the Gili Islands, so cidomo is the main form of transportand the islands - cidomo there has a fixed price fare schedule- much higher than on pronounced 'bee moh' are small minibuses used as public transport in most of the Lombok towns and cities. In the cities, larger yellow bemos ply the routes from Ampenan to Mataram; Mataram to Cakra, and beyond. The driver driving skill are reckless and our driver almost hit another bike or car during our journey. Almost everyday he is late to pickup us from the hotel. We could't change to other tour because on the 1st day, we have paid deposits to this company. Thats the way the tour agency tie u up. Also several lounges for first class and business class travelers. They also accept Priority cards. The Lombok International Airport is very beautiful. The security system is excellent. All staffs working at the airport from the security checks, Immigration checks, Mas check-in, shopping & food outlets, Pilots & crew are very professional and most friendly compared to any other parts of the world. Using taxis on Lombok, which is the best one? 10 years ago The overwhelming majority of taxis on the island of Lombok are operated by the very reputable Bluebird Taxi operator. However a small number of other 'blue' taxis have appeared on the island during 2012. As is the case in Jakarta and Bali these may look very similar to the Bluebirds, in some cases they are ex-Bluebird vehicles and so the colour and model match is near perfect. Normally if people on Lombok see a taxi that looks like a Bluebird anywhere on the island they will logically assume that it is one, that is now no longer appropriate. It would be prudent to be fully aware of their presence to avoid any confusion if using one of them. ❍ How to identify a Bluebird taxi Bluebird taxis have a distinctive colour and corporate image, including an illuminated sign on the roof. Be aware also that throughout Indonesia this distinctive corporate identity is copied by some competitors. Bluebird taxis come in a mid-blue and also a subtly darker metallic blue colour. All have the same distinctive signs and graphics. These photos of Bluebird taxis to assist in identifying them… Here is a photo of one from Bandung, they all look essentially the same across Indonesia… Nationwide booking contact numbers for Bluebird… All Bluebird taxis will display an ID card with the drivers name and photo. They are a dark blue coloured GM Chevrolet Lova model that looks like this in a dark blue colour with a white 'Taxi' sign on the roof and an identifying rondel on the front doors. ❍ The other operators are ✩ KSU Attic, PT. Rangga Rizki Pratama Mataram ✩ Narmada Taxi Lobar. Any taxi on Lombok must use the meter, there should be no unmetered taxis operating on Lombok. All taxis will be carrying the standard Black on yellow background number plate used for Public transport vehicles throughout Indonesia. If the vehicle has a white on black number plate then it is a private vehicle. ⚠ Flagfall is Rp4,500, Rp2,250 per kilometer and normally the minimum charge is Rp10,000. A booking fee may be applied if the taxi is pre-booked. ⚠ Only the Airport Koperasi Taksi and a very limited number of Bluebird and Express taxis are permitted to carry arriving passengers at Bandara Internasional Lombok airport to destinations across the island. All taxi trips that exit the airport require a Taxi Service Charge pre-payment at a counter in the terminal, and all taxis MUST use the meter for all journeys. ⚠ The 'Taxi Service Charge' payment at the airport is Rp17,500 for all Lombok destinations other than those within the administrative area of the Regency of Central Lombok includes Kuta, those destinations are Rp10,000.

The driver was friendly and drove carefully. His vehicle was modern and air-conditioned. He answered all my questions and request nicely. he even recommended the time we should leave during departure based on our flight even gave a really good rate for the whole trip, airport transfer by van, and fast boat transfer to Gili trawangan. The van was big and comfortable for the whole took a late flight, so we arrived at Lombok close to 9pm. Our guide waited patiently while we get luggage, a pit stop at the convenient store, and also ensure we took the fast boat safely. Booked a Blue Bird to come pick us up from the airport and the local taxi drivers attacked him with a stick to drive him away from the airport car-park!We had to cancel as local taxi drivers would not allow us to get in the car and were forced to use on of their own vehicles. What a nightmare coming out of the airport getting transport. Its about an hour trip from the airport. Cost should be about $20, we had an app Go-jek which helped us get the price its like Uber.
